Kid Trails / SILK - Split EP

Kid Trails is the brainchild of Patrick Jeffords, whose full-time job is playing bass in chill wave act Toro Y Moi.  While Jeffords keeps the “chill” aspect present in his solo work, this project differs significantly from the music of Toro Y Moi.  On his current offering, Jeffords churns out infectious jangly psych-pop with lyrics often lamenting on the tender moments in life. Kid Trails has been compared to The Kinks, Kurt Vile, and The Beatles on drugs in a garage - which is an accurate statement.

SILK is the solo project of Painted Palms’ Chris Prudhomme. While Painted Palms focuses on the darker sides of electro-pop, SILK takes a decidedly lighter, more upbeat approach. This self-titled EP showcases warbly synthwave tunes reminiscent of Screamadelica-era Primal Scream and other 90s drone-pop acts.
