“Friendless Summer is charming, goofy and is the right amount of escapist emotional spread that sends you into a head bobbing rapture.”
Born in the mind of Jack Brown, Friendless Summer was named as a play on The Beach Boy’s 1974 compilation album, Endless Summer. However, instead of warming you up with some “Surfing Safari” you are blasted with delay scorched lo-fi pop bliss. In 2015, Brown began writing Table for One as a solo endeavor while playing in The Strange Land. As a live outfit, Brown recruited Ganglians/Tiaras guitarist Kyle Hoover, bassist Mike Noda, and drummer Jack Given. The newly forged quartet, anointed with boundless ELO and Tom Petty appreciation set the stage for Brown to emerge as the serendipitous hero of natural foolishness.
